It's not just about service. It's about how it's delivered.
We give you time. We don’t assume what you want, so first of all we listen. This allows us to think about the details of your personal situation, and address your needs, not just the issue at hand. You’ll also get lawyer contact from day one.
First advice free
To underline our commitment to you, our initial advice is always free, whatever the legal issue. Your first conversation with one of our legal experts will provide you with an opportunity to ask questions and will enable us to understand more about your situation.
To get the most from our first free advice service, we recommend the following:
- Have a notepad to hand with a list of key facts that you’d like to cover - this is your opportunity to find out whether or not we can help you.
- Ask about the costs involved - we promise no hidden fees so there’ll be no unexpected surprises at a later point.
In most cases, it will take place over the phone, saving you a trip to our office. The legal advice you receive at this stage will be from one of our solicitors so you can feel confident about trusting it.
In some cases, the legal action you are planning to take might not be in your best interest or the work involved may be likely to cost more than the outcome will be worth to you.
By the end of the conversation, we will have confirmed whether or not we can help you and will provide you with a list of next steps.
Clear price guarantee
Our fees are always transparent. We are clear about the cost of any of our services. You’ll receive cost estimates in advance, and there will be no unpleasant surprises when you get your bill.
We'll give you an estimate of fees in advance and we won't begin any work until you are happy with our estimated costs, and we'll ensure that we're clear on our charges.
We will be clear on how much VAT is to be added and we'll be clear on any fees that any third parties may need to charge for your matter.
Direct lawyer contact from day one
People often complain that law firms make it difficult to speak directly with the solicitor running their case. At Burroughs Day, we do our best to ensure you have as much direct contact with your solicitor as you need.
There may be times when your solicitor is busy. If they are at Court or in a meeting, you will be able to talk to a member of your solicitor's team who is also familiar with your case.
Fobbing you off with a telephone message is not how we treat our clients.
If you want to speak with the actual solicitor running your case, just pick up the phone. It's as simple as that.
Our Portishead office is open on Saturdays between 10am – 2pm.
Being open on Saturday is part of our commitment to putting our clients first.
We’re happy for you to make an appointment on a Saturday or simply call us from the convenience of your home.
