Brendan Donohue

brendan.donohue@burroughsday.com

I specialise in providing employment law advice to care providers. I believe in providing clear, strong and practical advice to help providers achieve the best result for not only themselves but also their service users.  I always ensure that I understand your expectations and requirements. I have been described by Legal 500, an independent directory of solicitors, as 'assured, confident and realistic'.

My workload ranges from giving critical advice on workplace emergencies, dealing with thorny grievances and disciplinaries to representing clients in the Employment Tribunal. I have particular experience of defending ‘whistleblowing’ and discrimination claims.

I have managed several cases involving allegations of serious abuse. My role in such situations has been ensuring clients comply with the demands of the various safeguarding agencies, whilst not breaching their legal obligations towards their staff – often a very difficult balancing act.

I deliver in-house training to providers and their managers, and regularly speaker at social care seminars.
